Cleaning up litter requires substantial time and financial resources. Annually, Wakefield Council invests approximately £4.5 million in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our district. This includes regular cleaning of main roads, timely emptying of litter bins to prevent overflow, and efforts to address illegal dumping by fly-tippers through enforcement actions supported by evidence.
